Your privacy,
in plain words.

This website has no server, no database and no trackers. The only personal information Petros ever receives is what you decide to write to him yourself — and it reaches him through the messaging app or the email account that you choose.

The short version

What this comes down to.

  • No cookies, no analytics, no advertising and no third-party scripts of any kind.
  • The website has no server and no database, so nothing you type here is stored on it.
  • The enquiry form simply writes out your answers and hands them to the app you choose — WhatsApp or Viber or your own email programme.
  • Petros uses your details only to answer you and, if it becomes a booking, to arrange your tour.
  • You can ask him at any time what he holds, and ask him to correct it or delete it.

Who is responsible for your information

Petros Vassiliadis is an independent, licensed private tour guide based in Thessaloniki, and he is the data controller for anything you send through this site. There is no company, agency or call centre in between: your message goes to him, and he is the person who answers it.

What information is collected

Only what you choose to type into the enquiry form on the contact page:

  • your name;
  • your email address;
  • your phone or WhatsApp number;
  • the type of tour you are interested in;
  • your preferred dates;
  • the size of your group;
  • the language you would like to be guided in;
  • and whatever you write in the message box.

Only your name, your email address and the tour type are required. Everything else is optional, and you are free to leave out anything you would rather not share — “four of us, mid-May, please call me” is a perfectly good enquiry. If you write to Petros directly on WhatsApp, Viber, by email or by telephone, he knows only what you tell him there.

How your enquiry actually reaches Petros

This one is worth explaining properly, because it is not how most websites work.

These pages are plain files. There is no server behind them that could receive a form, and no database that could store one. The enquiry form therefore sends nothing at all by itself.

When you press Send inquiry, the page takes the answers you typed, writes them out as an ordinary text message in the language you are reading, and then asks how you would like to send it: WhatsApp, Viber, or your own email programme. The finished message is handed to the app you choose, ready for you to send — or not.

Two things follow from that. First, until you press send inside that app, nothing has left your device and nothing has been recorded anywhere; closing the tab is enough to make it disappear. Second, once you do send it, your enquiry travels through the service you picked — WhatsApp or Viber or your email provider — and from that moment it is also handled under that company’s own privacy policy, exactly like any other message you send through them. The website itself stores nothing, at any stage.

Cookies, analytics and tracking

There are none. This site sets no cookies whatsoever. There is no Google Analytics or any other statistics tool, no advertising, no social-media pixels, no third-party scripts, and no fonts, maps or videos loaded from anyone else’s servers. Petros receives no visitor statistics and has no way of knowing who has looked at these pages.

The one thing the site does remember is which language you chose. It is kept in your own browser’s local storage under the name “pv-lang”, so that the site opens in the right language next time. It holds nothing but a two-letter language code, it is never sent anywhere, and clearing your browsing data removes it.

Why your details are used, and on what legal basis

Your details are used for one thing: to answer your enquiry and, if it becomes a booking, to organise your tour. They are not used for marketing, and you will not be added to any mailing list.

Under the General Data Protection Regulation this rests on Article 6(1)(b) — the steps taken at your request before entering into a contract — and, for enquiries that never turn into bookings, on Article 6(1)(f), his legitimate interest in replying to people who write to him.

How long it is kept

Your enquiry stays where it arrived: in the WhatsApp or Viber conversation between you and Petros, or in his email account. He keeps it for as long as he needs it — to reply, and then to arrange and complete the tour and settle anything that follows from it. When it is no longer needed, he deletes it. If you would like your conversation deleted sooner, simply ask.

Who else sees it

Petros does not sell personal data and does not share it for marketing. Some arrangements, however, cannot be made without passing on a detail or two, and in those cases he shares only what is strictly necessary:

  • a driver, when the day includes a car and a driver — typically a name, a pick-up point and a time;
  • a boat, yacht or helicopter operator, when a charter has to be booked in your name — the passenger details the operator requires;
  • the Mount Athos Pilgrims’ Bureau, when a visitor’s permit has to be applied for on your behalf — the personal details the Bureau requires for the application.

He will tell you when this is needed, and it happens only in order to make the arrangement you asked for.

Your rights

The Regulation gives you the following rights over your own information, and Petros will honour them:

  • Access — ask what he holds about you and receive a copy of it.
  • Rectification — have anything inaccurate corrected.
  • Erasure — ask him to delete what he holds.
  • Restriction — ask him to stop using it while a question is being settled.
  • Objection — object to his using it on the basis of legitimate interest.
  • Portability — receive your details in a form you can take elsewhere.
  • Withdrawal of consent — withdraw your consent at any time, where he has relied on it.

To use any of them, write to or call . There is no form to fill in and no charge, and he will answer within one month, as the Regulation requires.

If something has gone wrong

If you think your information has been mishandled, please raise it with Petros first — most such things turn out to be a misunderstanding that one message can settle. You also have the right to complain to the Greek supervisory authority, the Hellenic Data Protection Authority (Αρχή Προστασίας Δεδομένων Προσωπικού Χαρακτήρα), at www.dpa.gr.

Children

This service is not aimed at children, and Petros does not knowingly collect information about them. When a family books a tour, the adult making the booking naturally gives the details of the group — including how many children are coming and, where it matters for the day, their ages — and that information is treated exactly like the rest of the enquiry.

Changes to this notice

If the way this site or its enquiry form works ever changes — if, for example, a real form-handling service were added — this notice will be updated before that change goes live, and the date at the top of the page will change with it. This version was last updated on 2 August 2026.
